The Oregon Symphony has a concert at 7:30 on Saturday, April 26, so there won’t be an evening concert for Classical Up Close that day, but we have a thrilling program on Sunday, April 27 at 4:00 at Cedar Hills United Church of Christ (11695 SW Park Way, Portland, OR 97225. FREE, of course! The program starts with a composition by our own Sergio Carreno. Next, you get to hear how sophisticated and fun bass and bassoon can be, courtesy of two of the finest practitioners of those instruments. After intermission, the dynamic women of the truly excellent string quartet Mousai Remix will play the music of two powerful composers, Shostakovich and Schubert.
